To make it easier for you, I created a list of websites where you can get free pictures for your blog content and design for your projects. I recommend that you always read a website or a photo’s license, conditions, and terms prior to using it.
But before I give you the list, let us look into the different licenses that you usually see in photos.
What is Creative Commons?
Creative Commons refers to a nonprofit organization which allows sharing and use of creativity and knowledge through free legal tools. There are various types of Creative Commons licenses that range from allowing any type of use with no attribution to allowing only certain uses and no changes.
What is public domain?
Works that are in the public domain are those with expired copyrights, have been forfeited, or are inapplicable. Not everything that you find on the internet are in the public domain.
What is royalty free?
Royalty-free images aren’t actually free. It means that you have to pay a one-time fee to obtain the rights to use the image. Then you can use it as many times as you like. The “free” in “royalty-free” only means that you do not have to pay royalties to the owner of the image every time you use it.
Most of my images in this blog are from Unsplash because I love their pictures! There are over 1 million images from this that are all high resolution taken by professional photographers. You can use photos from the site for commercial and non-commercial without the need to credit the owners.
From wallpapers to manipulated images- you can get all these from Pixabay which offers millions of beautiful photos that you can use for your blogs and creative projects. Aside from Unsplash, I also use this site for my blog images.

Foca Stock will not only give you free stock photos but you can also access free social media templates that you can use for Facebook, Instagram, and more. You can even edit and resize the photos without the need of using another tool or app since you can do this in their website.
Although Raw Pixel is selling premium images, they also provide safe to use images. It is a nice place to get photos for blogs too!
