If you love traveling, then you will surely like this post we have today from Eloise. She will share to us some gifts that people who like to travel will love the most. Take a look at what she prepared for us.
Travel can be a way of life for some people: they just don’t seem to be satisfied unless they’re off to their next big adventure. And if you have someone in your life who does just that, you may find that it’s difficult to find the right thing for them.
With today’s technology, however, you should have no problem finding them cool gifts and suggestions that they can use throughout their travels. Everyone can always use something, you just have to figure out what it is they need. Here are a few ideas that may be able to help the traveler in your life.
A VPN Socket
One of the most frustrating things about traveling is that sometimes you aren’t allowed to use apps that you normally can in your part of the world. Having a VPN is one easy way around this frustration.
VPN stands for Virtual Personal Network, and while there are many uses for one, it can help travels live with the comforts of home. If for instance, you want to watch Netflix in another country, you may be shut out because. Using a VPN will let you watch as normal because you can enter your home address.
The socket VPN creates a network when you plug your device in, so it takes the hassle out of finding an app to do so. VPNs are also a great added security feature for when you go on public WiFi so you can find uses for it wherever you travel.
A Great Weather App
Weather Live Free is a weather app by Apalon Apps that will keep you informed on all of the weather conditions — present and future — from anywhere in the world so you will always know what to expect.
The app has all of the pertinent information: temperature (including “feels like” temperature, the humidity percentage, the wind speed, and direction and it even has the sunrise and sunset times. Weather Live also features a seven-day forecast and uses a constantly-updated weather radar to show you any fronts that are moving toward or away from your location.
Weather Live also has a built-in widget that you can personalize on your home screen, so you can have all of the information right at your disposal.
A Portable USB Charger
One of the great luxuries of the 21st century is being able to have mobile devices with you wherever you go. The bad things about it are that you need to keep them all charged.
A good USB charger like this one can charge up to two devices at a time with speed so your devices are always ready. The charger itself plugs into a socket and can last for nearly 500 full charges so you will not need another one for a very long time. You can even use the devices while they’re plugged in to save battery life.
Think of these cool items next time you talk to someone who travels all of the time.
About The Author:
Eloise Bailey loves to travel. She (half jokingly) describes herself as a globetrotter, though daren’t write that down on application forms! Just back from a trip to South Africa, she shares her travel stories and tips online.
So, I started thinking about the gadgets I could have found a good use for while on the road. Having traveled frequently in the past, about the only thing I could think of is a compact high-quality power bank.
As for the VPN, I agree with you there. But VPN is a service and it does take a little bit of tinkering to install the proper settings on a mobile device. For instance, I use VPN too when I am in China. It is not because I wanted to access Facebook, but other services such as Dropbox is also not allowed in countries like China. But I use Dropbox to store business documents, among others.
Great tips! Travel adapter is also a must. Personally I also like to upload the maps and some information about the location in my phone before leaving home. Also downloading something fun to do is a great idea (e-book, games, etc.), these are great especially if having a long flight!
