Asia’s Songbird, our very own Regine Velasquez-Alcasid collaborates with Australian singer-composer, also producer Rick Price on one of his classic hits “Nothing Can Stop Us Now” under Sony Music Philippines.
According to the ABS-CBN star, she highly considers it a privilege to have been offered a collaboration with Rick Price. She adds that she was really excited to know about the team-up with an International star she truly admires.
What will music lovers expect of the said collab? Well, there’s a new spin on this classic single that became a huge hit in the Philippines back in 1995. Apart from that impact to the Philippine adult and contemporary, it also landed #11 on the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA)’s music sales chart, it, being a part of Rick’s second studio album entitled Tamborine Mountain.
How did the two conspire for a duet?
According to Rick Price, he was initially very excited to meet and listen to the Asia’s Songbird sing the moment she found out about Regine’s singing prowess and fame. Rick describes her, as a matter of fact – lovely and that her voice is exquisite. He also adds that he was thrilled when the Songbird agreed with the said project with him.
Both actually had a mutual feeling towards the song recording project. Regine Velasquez-Alcasid without a doubt agreed to record her parts where she acknowledges how Rick gave her the creative freedom of the song interpretation. There were suggestions from the Heaven Knows singer on how to give the material a new life too. Our very own Songbird despite her fame around the world though feels deeply honored that the said collaboration had become a reality.
Music lovers and fans of both singing sensations should expect an expanded arrangement and production including a full band and string section as well where everyone will see a more delicate vocal performance from the Filipina singer-actress.
